Italy!!

We had been dreaming of it for years and planning it for months. In July of this year, we had a wonderful time in beautiful Italy. We traveled by rail between Rome, Florence, and Venice. Here is a very small sampling of the many pictures we took while there.

New Beginnings, Endings, and a Growing Boston Terrier

Updates for the Shoemaker household include a great deal of activity. Firstly, the Nut House is complete! Stay tuned to the blog for a slide show. Secondly, as I continue along in my current semester at Trinity, I have also registered for two classes next fall. One of them is going to be an independent study to prepare for my novel. This has inspired me to actually start it, hence the new beginnings. Cooper is twenty-three pounds, and he has officially decided to stop growing.... we hope. As you can see from the pictures, he has been having lots of adventures with his humans, kitties, and new dog friends. At a recent play date, he met a dog who reminds him of one his friends who he hasn't seen in a long while.

Christmas Party 2007

It was blasphemy! It was unheard of! We decided to forgo throwing the traditional Halloween party of years past to put our decorating energy into a Christmas party. Our friends had so much fun that they have forgiven us, and we may just have to throw two parties next year. How will we ever survive? As with most of our parties, we had a surprise. In this year's case, it was an impromptu sing-a-long, which was a little more tame than the belly dancing of 2005 (and more appropriate). We also had a gift-opening game, where the lucky person was challenged to open a gift while wearing oven mitts, and inside one box was another and another. Here are the pictures of the way the box started and the winner of the prize, and no, it was not an iPod.

Signs of Fall

For Halloween this year, Batgirl and Captain America prevented crime and did all sorts of other superhero things, like pose for pictures. For a minute, it looked like Superman would join our league, but alas, things did not work out. Cooper went as a 17 and 1/2 pound gremlin because he already had the costume.

New England can be tricky when it comes to weather. One never knows exactly when the seasons are about to change. The leaves begin to turn, the air's a bit cooler, and the clock is about to roll back. However, the surest sign of fall is when you have to wrestle the Boston Terrier into a sweater.

Thanks for visiting again, and we're sorry for the wait. As the holidays, skiing, and the completion of the house project nears, posts will definitely become more regular.
